Remember this post from 2023? Well, I am still in the habit of doing so—when I walk to my kitchen in the morning, I will read one in the list and try to pin it at the back of my mind as I go about the rest of the day!

I moved house last year, and the little whiteboard 📋 came along with me. Here are the ten I had on it for 2024. As before, they are the things I’ve thought about, or read, or heard, that I think do well to be reminded of daily:

1. ❤️‍🩹 Grieve, but don’t grumble. Weep, but don’t whine.

2. 👆 Care about what the Lord cares about, not what the world cares about.

3. 🚶‍♀️ Walk very simply with the cross of the Lord and be at peace with yourself.

4. ‼️ Welcome interruptions from God.

5. 🕊️ Freedom and peace is simply love God and love others. Forget yourself.

6. 🆒 Do not be easily provoked. Choose to do the mature thing.

7. 🤲 Commit your way to the Lord and then submit to His disposal of it.

8. 🧎‍♀️ Serve as unto the Lord and accept inconsiderateness & ingratitude as part of our lives.

9. 🔚 All is well indeed that ends everlastingly well.

10. It is a very miserable condition to depend on the creatures for contentment. For it is impossible.

They have been helpful to me through the year. Hopefully can be of some use to you too.

Also, here are some more help for reflection if you want to ponder at some point in the year. They are called the Rules for Self-knowledge by A.W. Tozer, simple questions to ask yourself that quickly reveals much.

Rules for Self-knowledge (A.W. Tozer) 🪞

1. What we want most 💟

When you are asked what’s the deepest longing in your heart—is it for things that last in this lifetime only? Our answers will show the smallness of our heart and where our hearts are really directed to ➡️

2. What we think abt most 👁️‍🗨️

We can’t fake this, can we? It just pops up in your mind.  Beware of your motive when you are too eager on something.

3. How we use our money 💰

Imagine someone going through your bank details, what does it say about you?

4. What we do with our leisure time 🆓

This question is not only for knowing yourself but the answers will certainly play a part in shaping your future self too.

5. The company we enjoy 👥

What and who are we drawn to, and for what purpose?  Where do we get refreshment?

What fuels you reveals what’s in you.

6. Who and what we admire 🫡

I know who they are for me, and sure, give respect to whom respect is due. Just know in the end the admiration only comes from things that are contained in Christ and reflected in the person you look up to.

7. What we laugh at 😆

Not only what gets you ticking, but what tickles you does say a lot about you too.

Happy pondering..

Any thoughts?
